Inspire Me Monday - Week Fourteen
It is Monday and. . .I am just tired. I lost my temper with my daughter last night and although I didn't all out yell at her (this time), I stormed out of the room like the teenager that she is and not the mama like I should be.I didn't have any more nice left in me. Between the dirty pizza dishes and the sweet tuck ins, I lost my heart for the daily and became weary at the sound of my own voice. When it is all I ever wanted, I found last night, I was tired of being the mother.I write to encourage others in knowing that we are not alone in mothering or in life. I write to join hands in sharing that we need each other, and yet, I have not written more than one post a week in I don't know how long. It seems the words are lost in the abyss of the dreary lost days and the dreams of words to come. And I am losing myself. To what, I don't know. . . because I don't see the footsteps changing.Yet, when I stop and listen in the quiet of the night, when the world hushes into the black night, I see that it is because I am looking for deep changes in my children. In myself. But life is not like that. It is in the daily small whispers of a good night prayer. It is when your son buys another child an ice cream cone with his own money. It is in the littlest wiping up the bathroom counter without being asked. It is going over those spelling words one more time. It is studying for that Social Studies test with your daughter like you were the one who will be taking it in the morning. The deep is found in the little.Because I am a mother.I cannot do it alone. God wants to fill me with His power because I cannot do it on my own. I will lose my niceness every time if I am left to my own strength. But because of Him, I press on.So, this is my inspiration for you, a hope in today and a prayer for tomorrow because we are all in this together. Whether you are a mother or not, you are brave just because you live life every day. {click to tweet}May this beautiful video inspire you today to press on.
